Dear Friends

Thanks to YOU, the California AIDS Ride 6 was a GREAT SUCCESS.  I’ve just received the final tally of pledges and my total of $2,615 contributed to the most successful AIDSRide in history, raising over $11 million with an exceptionally low 30% fundraising cost for the ride.

The ride was another extraordinary personal experience for me. At final count, around 2,700 riders and 400 crew set out on the six-day trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The 580 mile adventure took us down beautiful coastal roads, inland to California’s agricultural counties, through spectacular Santa Barabara and finally back to the coast to finish our ride down the Pacific Coastal Highway. On our last day we passed the beaches of Malibu and then into downtown Los Angeles where we were greeted by thousands of supporters at Century City for the closing ceremonies. 

This year, I was joined by my sister Liz (in LA) and my best friend Malcolm (in Durham, NC). Together with 5 others our team ‘Team Pedal Power’ raised over $25,000 for California AIDS Ride 6.
